Meet Jami Messuri, Professional Makeup Artist
Hey there!
I'm Jami Messuri, a traveling makeup artist and licensed esthetician! I’m always on the move, bringing beauty to my clients wherever they are! You could totally say I’m a bit of a free spirit – but trust me, I'm also Type A, so I've got that balance between fun and focused covered! Cue the Stevie Nicks vibes, please!
A little about me:
So, when did I fall in love with makeup? Well, get ready for this – I was ELEVEN! For my birthday, I got Making Facesby Kevyn Aucoin, and it was a total game changer! I was completely hooked. I mean, this guy could totally reshape and transform a face with just makeup – how cool is that?! By 15, I was the go-to girl for doing makeup for all my friends’ homecoming and prom looks, and fun fact: I still do that to this day!
I moved to the big city and went to MakeUp Designory (MUD) in NYC to study fashion and special effects makeup (yes, I can do special effects if you’re into that, too!), then I earned my esthetician license at the Brown Aveda Institute.
Fast forward 15 years, and I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working with some of the biggest brands like NARS, and MAC Cosmetics in amazing cities like New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Charleston! I started my bridal makeup career as the Lead Makeup Artist at a bridal company in Ohio, but then I couldn’t resist soaking up some Southern sunshine, so I packed my bags and headed south.
I’ve been living in Charleston for 8 years now, and it’s been a dream! For the last 4 years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work as a celebrity makeup artist for Bravo’s Southern Charm and Southern Hospitality. Working on set has been a blast, where I get to create fun, glam looks with all the glitter and rhinestones you could imagine!
